Before you say 'Yes!'

Before you say yes or accept the offer letter you would like to know some more about the offered opportunity and about the new organisation. You may clear on these terms with HR representative of the new company.

Salary
Check in detail here Salary & Components.

Profile Expectations
Check what profile/designation they are looking for and what are their expectations.

Office hours/days
Check working hours and days because some company have 6 working days a week, also they may have particularly Night Shifts.

Work locations
Check what all possible work locations would be based on your profile related projects. Sometimes, company outsource you and you have to work at client location.

Work from home(WFH) option
Check how 'Work From Home' is managed within the organisation in case of employee's personal urgency.

Holidays
Check what number of mandatory, sick, casual and flexi-leaves could be availed within a year.

Appraisal Cycle
Check what model they follow during assessement(rating system, minimum salary hike at your level etc.). This may indirectly help you in choosing company(in case of having multiple offer letters) in order to fall in the nearest appraisal cycle.

Notice Period
Check what is the notice period that you would serve when you would like to leave the company, the less the good.

Miscellaneous
Generally for service based companies check its CMMI level (Best is 5). Some other checks may include cafeteria/canteen, recreational area etc.

    if it is a consultancy then what after the client/company doesn't have a project, where would I go?

  3. Also check- While joining, in case of location transfer they provide accommodation for 2weeks minimum.

    Also, some government or non-IT opportunities also allot flat/house to stay (along with family) during your tenure.
